Wensley Dujour is 5 years old and starts kindergarten at TLC in the fall 2013.Wesley needs a co-sponsor. He has 5 people living in his small concrete home. His mother does not have a job, but his father works as a mason. This is Wesley’s first opportunity to go to school!
Dieury Louis: He will start kindergarten at TLC in the fall 2013. As soon as we saw this tiny smiling face peeking out from his tarp tent home, we knew he belonged at TLC Barefoot School. Dieury is 4 years old and has been living in a tent for 2 years since the 2010 earthquake destroyed his family’s home. There are 5 people living in this small tent and neither of his parents can find jobs, therefore, they cannot afford to send Dieury to school. They were very thankful for this wonderful opportunity!
Wilguens St. Vil: Wilguens is 4 years old and living in a one room house with a total of 6 people. He will start Pre-K at TLC in the fall. When we went to speak to his parents, his mother was lying on the floor of the house because she was so sick. She could barely stand or walk to come speak to us. Neither of Wilguens parents work and they cannot afford to pay for all of their children to go to school. Both Nickson and I felt that God placed this little one in front of us
Jameson Joseph started kindergarten at TLC in the fall. He is 5 years old and living in a one room house with three other people. Neither of his parents have jobs. He is a very happy little boy and he smiled with excitement when we invited him to come to our school.
Moise Coffy starts TLC this year as a 4th grader – 2013.
Drendy Rene – needs co-sponsorship.
Clavens Alcine is a 2nd grader this year at TLC 2013.
Support for the TLC School breaks into three major areas:
I. Support for the School:
As with any school, TLC requires items such as classroom, office, healthcare and maintance supplies.
II. Support for the Teachers:
The school also has to pay its teachers. The number of teachers varies but is usually in the area of 10 to 12. You can help support or sponsor a teacher.
III. Sponsor a Child:
You can sponsor one of the children attending the school. Your sponsorship fees pay for the Christian curriculum, two nutritious meals per day, medical needs as they arise, rent/utilities/maintenance for the school building and all other expenses related to running a school. A full sponsorship costs $625 per year (approx. $1.71 per day) and a co-sponsorship costs $312 per year (approx 85 cents per day). Sponsorship fees can be paid annually, semi-annually, or monthly.
