HIS Home orphanage visits TLC

A group associated with HIS Home orphanage came to visit TLC Barefoot School. The team helped bag food to take to some of the smaller tent cities.
HIS Home for Children orphanage (www.hishomeforchildren.com) is an interdenominational Christian ministry that is based in Lima, Ohio and cares for orphaned and abandoned children in Haiti. The orphanage is next door to TLC. The HIS Home team visited one of our TLC classroom for the younger children which is located on ground level. The team was also able to visit the classrooms of the older children that is located on the second floor of the school building.

The group was able to be at TLC during our morning worship and the reciting of the National Anthem of Haiti.

Statement from Tony Scott, a member of the HIS Home Orphanage team (http://www.thejolietscotts.blogspot.com) – “More about Dottie’s TLC School…the kids that attend TLC are neighborhood kids. I believe all the children there are “sponsored”…which means that someone is paying for their education. Without Dottie finding the kids sponsors and having the school there…these children would most likely never receive an education.
Something we take mostly for granted here in the U.S.–an education–is a luxury in Haiti. An education can open so many doors for these kids as they grow. In a country where the number of children outnumbers the number of adults…an education could change their entire country.”

We were notified that there was another large aftershock. Please keep all of the Haitian people in your prayers.
